The Sarojin Khao Lak Community Fund

The Sarojin recognizes its responsibility as a corporate citizen and is dedicated to supporting the local community and environment.

The Sarojin Khao Lak Community Fund was established prior to the opening of the resort and as a first response to the 26 December 2004 Tsunami.

As Executive Director, Andrew Kemp explains;

“To date through our international contacts and partners we have been able to support a significant number of projects in Khao Lak, wider areas of Phang Nga province, Thailand and recently Myanmar (Burma). Whilst the critical aid, relief and immediate needs have in the main now been met we continue to focus on specific projects we identify that still require ongoing support.”

To date The Sarojin Khao Lak Community Fund has contributed in a number of areas:

Healthcare: Thailand Red Cross; provision for prosthetic limbs
Childcare: Orphanage support
Education: New classrooms, class equipment and play equipment
Civil Works: Road building
Animal Welfare: Providing for and treating homeless dogs and cats by employing a Khao Lak Community vet..
Nature: Landscape replanting and regeneration
Employment: Part finance for the creation of a boatyard to restore the local fishing fleet
Safety: Street lighting
Myanmar (Burma) relief aid - ongoing urgent need

100% of The Sarojin Khao Lak Community Fund is distributed to community projects in Khao Lak, Phang Nga in Thailand and recently Myanmar (Burma).

Contributions to the fund can be made by direct telegraphic transfer or by sending cheques directly to the bank.
